Wine of the week:  Piedmont to the people!

Last week we had a Kultour Live Show in Northern Norway. An evening with food and wines from our adventures around the world.

The wine we selected for our mushroom lasagna, turned out to be the best food pairing of the night. It's a great wine from Piedmont, good availability around the country and at a very affordable price. It's made from a mix of grapes (Dolcetto 25%, Freisa 5%, Nebbiolo 30%, Barbera 35%, Pinot Nero 3%) and stands out as a versatile food companion.

Vajra Langhe Rosso 2017 - 153kr

Ruby red colour. 
Smell of sweet ripe berries. Cherries, raspberry and black currants.
Nice and quite juicy taste of light red berries and darker ones. Earthy after taste, with medium lengt and clean finish.


Food
If I haven't mentioned it; great with mushroom lasagna :)
The wine is very  earthy and will handle flavours of the same, very well. 
Try risotto with porcini, pork loin with chanterelle sauce, creamy chicken or a perfect companion to Thanksgiving turkey.
