Cantina Zaccagnini is a family run winery in Abruzzo, 3 hours driving East of Rome. It's a versatile region, with 1/3 of the land marked as National Parks. They have high mountains and beaches, with good skiing conditions in winter and sunbathing in the summer months. And they produce a lot of wine here. 22 million liters a year. About 2/3 is produced by cooperatives, but small family producers keep popping up; changing the region.
