The new year is here and you want to save a little in January, understandable. But a glass of wine now and then is something you don't want to give up, also understandable. Fortunately there is a good way to both save money and enjoy a nice glass of wine once in a while without opening a new bottle every time you want to have a glass.
Luca Roagnas wines are some of our favourite wines and has featured here befor as wine of the week. Then it was the excellent Langhe Rosso we recomended and we still do. But this week we will recommend his BiB.
In this box is a wine that is 100 % Barbera from vineyards around Asti. It is a Selezione Luca Roagna, so not from vinyards that Luca himself owns, but from fields that are owned by his friends. Every year Luca accompanies his frinds in these fields and finds vines that have the right age and quality that he wants and makes this fine wine. As with all of Lucas wines the quality shines through here as well and the result is something that is great with both food and if you just want a glass one afternoon.
Tasting Notes:
Barbera Piemonte Selezione Luca Roagna 2018 - 499,90 kr
Deep purple colour, nice an rich. A lovely bouqet. Cherry, red plum, spices and mushrooms on the nose. Red cherrys and a lovely structure in the mouth. The acidity is really finely integrated and makes the wine a great food wine. This is a superb pizza wine and will also be great with pasta.
