What to drink at Christmas? One of the questions we get so often here at KulTour. When it comes to wine with dinner check out our podcasts from last year where we recommend wines for all of Christmas. One type of wine we recommended last year was Port for the cakes and desserts. This weeks wine is from a producer more famous for his ports than his regular wines. The 2017 vintage for Port Wine is the stuff of legendes! Our good friend Tom Martinsen has written a great article for the superb wine website Nattverden where he explains why this vintage is so good and what wines you should focus on. The best have already been bought I'm afraid but there are still some great wines to be found and at a bargain price, so have a look at you local vinmonopol and try to get some for your collections. But it wasn't just the port wines that were great this year. The regular wines were also exceptional something this weeks wine is proof of. Tasting notes Crasto Douro Red 2017 - 159,90 kr Made from Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca grapes. Flavours of dark, dark berries. The fruit really stands out as superb. Very jucy and good to drink. Tannins are fine and not as dominant as they often are in young Portugese wines. Great to drink alone but will handle meat dishes as well. Maybe try it with game?
