SRING IS HERE!!
Parks are filling up, people can wear normal clothes again and the first decent bottles of 2017 rosé have arrived. What a fantastic feeling.

We love our rosé, but for an extremely limited time only. During May and June we do most of the consumption and we tend to stick to French and Italian producers. Understandable.

Myths

There are quite a few myths surrounding the rosé wine, and most of them are wrong. I've heard people tell that a rosé is just a mix of red and white wine. That only simple wine producers make rosé and that rosé wine is a sweet wine.

Making a propper rosé is just as complicated as making a good red or white wine and different regions have different styles in their rosé's. My favorites come from France and two of them are already available.

Tasting notes

Domaine Saint-Cyr La Galoche Rosé 2017 - 179kr

From Beaujolais, in Burgundy, France.
Made with 100% Gamay
Beautiful deep pink, almost light red in colour. Smells like a raspberry party, with hints of fresh crushed black currants.
Rich, structured and very complex in the mouth. Impressive acidity and very fresh. Flavours like raspberry, rhubarb and currants dance around in your mouth.
A wine that knows what it wants and rules from the moment you pop the bottle (even though it's a screw cap).

Enjoy on the terrace in the spring sun or pair it with light dishes such as a turkey salad or toast with crushed avocados & chilis.

Pomponette Rosé 2017 - 169kr

A true classic from Provence, France
A mix of five different grapes.
Light salmon pink on colour. Smells of currants like I remember from my mothers garden in Northern Norway. Hints of rhubarb and a touch of strawberries. You can also smell wet stones as the wine opens.
Soft, silky smooth and elegant in the mouth. Taste of currants, red berries and herbs from Provence. Comforting acidity with a long and pleasant finish. A crowd pleaser deluxe.

No need for food with this. Drink alone and enjoy the start of the sunny season.
