Vippa is the brand new street food market in Oslo. And just to get it out of the way: This is going to be a smash hit!
Bilde

Located in what is the prime rib of Oslo’s waterfront, Vippa is off to a good start. The concept is simple. Food stalls from all over the world, a bar that holds liquids and plenty of informal seating options, both indoors and outdoors. This concept is copy-paste from the famous Copenhagen Street Food in Papirøen, Copenhagen.
A rustic, former sugar storing hangar, on pier 40 serves as location for the concept.

So far there are nine food stalls and one drink booth. More will come.

Duck It!

Well, they serve duck.. The slow roasted and pulled kind. And fries. Duck comes in different dishes, but the most popular is the burger.

Raketten
This is a hot dog stand from northern-Norway. Tromsø, to be more precise. The only Norwegian joint. They do currywürst and more plain stuff, in buns with toppings. Sausages made of reindeer, beef and pork.

Mamma Pizza
Italian guy from Bologna serves up his childhood in this colorful stand. Pizza comes in different styles and shapes. From classic thin crust, to more home style rustic twists.

Lisa’s

Veggie place with a heart for Vietnam. Noodle soups, spring rolls, phó and banh mi.

Kinabolle

Killer name :)

There's one drink stall. Beers, wine, sodas etc. Whatever you desire. There is a nice seating option on the outside, with a lot of potensial if the summer sun delivers. This will be packed on warm days.

Were Oslo first proper food market, Mathallen in Grünerløkka, ended up being a hybrid between dinning/shopping – Vippa is clear: EAT – DRINK – ENJOY
Don’t get me wrong, Mathallen is still great (best butcher – best fish shop in Oslo), but they set out to be a market for great produce and ended up being a collection of eateries. Most people who came to Mathallen was looking for what Vippa now offers.

Next year they will open a roof section as well. Vegetable garden and more seats. Pretty cool.

I've got to check this new street food in Oslo. It looks hip and fun! I hope the food is good! I'm a sucker for new things to explore and will definitely check this one out. May I ask what's your favorite food stall and your food recommendation? I hope they also have a vegan food option. I can't wait for the rooftop section to be open, I'm sure it'll be as great. Thanks for sharing Vippa with us. Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers!
