25 million people travel from Gardermoen airport every year. And it has really become a fantastic airport. Easy to get around and slick and stylish interior. One of the finest airports in the world we think.
But everybody need to eat and does the airports foodie options keep up with the rest of the place? We've taken the tour of the domestic terminal.

Gardermoen airport has undergone huge transformations lately, and are now in the finishing stages. It's quite smooth, elegant and ready for the next millennium. The nordic cuisine's reputation is rising, so there should be no reason for this entry-exit station to hold back. Unfortunately, we've still got a long way to go to before Gardermoen is even remotely interesting, food vice. But one has to eat...here's the guide you need :)
Bilde

Waffle with Norwegian brown cheese. This is one of the best things you can buy at Gardermoen airport.
A statement in itself.

The Domestic Guide

First; in general, it's appropriate to announce that prices are ridiculous. You can almost buy a car for the amount you spend on a baguette and flavoured water. So let's just lave that aside.

W.B Samson

Bilde
Just before security you could consider W.B.Samson bakery. Dating back to 1894 this old fashioned institution serves a decent selection of baked goods, toasts and sandwiches. Best thing would be their cinnamon bun, which holds rich portions of sinful butter and sugars. Toasts on sourdough with mozzarella and tomatoes are nice to.Tragic salads. I'm sorry.

Seafood Bar

Bilde
A stayer, having been present both in the domestic and international terminal for ages. A posh look is chosen to attract posh clients, I guess. Food, however, is far from posh or luxurious in any way. Most seafood products here are from cans and dull taste is camouflaged by heavy portions of mayo and lemon. It's un-fresh, tasteless and a sorry window for the fantastic fish produce we have in Norway. The Swedish "Smörgåstårta" is alright. Sort of a layered cake, just with heavy mayo, dill and shrimps. They also feature a hot selection including fish burger and fish soups. Nothing to write home about that either. It's not a great place to eat, but if you just have to have seafood, well this is your best option.

Upper Crust

Bilde
It boggles my mind why this place even exits. Upper crust, who claim they have famously fresh baguettes, serves just that; baguettes. And yes their turnover is tremendous so the bake off baguettes are right out out of the oven. But both the breads and the fillings are so processed, that you can barely feel any taste at all. It's quite a performance to enable produce to taste so little. Eating a baguette from Upper Crust is like eating a mattress. It feels funny, wrong and when you're done you feel like one.

However...the waffle with Norwegian brown cheese is not bad at all. That is if you're lucky to get it fresh, and most times you dont.

Pizza Hut

Bilde
We're all probably familiar with this joint. A great place if you're tremendously hung over, if not pretend it's not there. It's just fat and air in different combinations. It holds impressive amounts of calories and likewise absence of taste and flavours. If you're on a good day, you will feel sick after a slice or two. If you're hung over, you'll feel a short period of relief, before hunger kicks in again. Empty calories and stuff your body isn't prepared to handle. If you decide to go for The Hut, go all in and get the steak and béarnaise pizza.

Jamie's Deli

Without question your best option at Gardermoen airport right now. This fresh addition actually has a nice selection of food :) Jamie Oliver has created a 'food on the go' option that is quite nice. Delicious deli style pizza, hearty soups and salads, in addition you'll find super tasty healthy food options. Check out the vegetarian super food wrap, that even would satisfy the meat hungry. Or digg in to a fresh made margarita pizza. Jamie's Deli offers a cool selection of smoothies, juices, fresh fruits and take away salads.
Minus on the service. They are new, but it seems a bit absent and chaotic.

Now also featuring a second store up in the new C-section. Same stuff, different floor.

Parken

Bilde
Parken in located in the far end of the domestic terminal, by gate A20. The best thing this place has going on is the green trees simulating the park feeling. They serve a selection of sandwiches, coffee and juice. The bread is heavily processed, dry and tasteless. Fillings are traditional ham & cheese, salami & brie and chicken curry. Not a very satisfying eating experience. Sorry.

Norge

Bilde
Not really an eating station, but so cool in looks we just had to throw it in the mix. They serve beer, drinks and a small selection of wraps and baked goods. Food is nothing to talk about, but have a glass here. The atmosphere is quite something.

Ritazza

Bilde
Ritazza is much like Parken (above), just without the trees. Same food, same coffee, same problems. Blind tasting this, you could easily confuse it for Parken, or the other way around. Not much more to add for this joint.

Coming soon

Bilde
Things are still developing at Gardermoen and places like Bølgen & Moi Food Garage could be a joyful addition. They have excellent restaurants in and about Oslo, so potential is there.
Bilde
Ritazza is opening another place in the newly opened section of the airport. Images are somewhat promising, but time will show.
