Autumn is definitely here, the colours are vibrant, the air is chilly and it's raining all the time. Sometimes you just have to curl up inside with a good book and chill. Usually I would pop open a red wine but this time I have gone for a classic white wine from Burgundy. And why not, is rich and tasty with hints of the summer we never got … Domaine Louis Latour covers 48 hectares of vineyard, including 27 hectares of Grand Cru, and is the largest holding of Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy. The domaine is centred in the village of Aloxe-Corton which has been the Latour's family home since the creation of the house. Respect for terroir is one of the fundamental values of the Maison, who have practised reasoned agriculture for almost 20 years. The Domaine makes fantastic reds and whites but this week we have gone for one of their fine white wines. Tasting notes:Louis Latour Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 - 249,90 kr Pale yellow in colour. An intense nose with aromas of muscatel and brioche. Ample and round on the palate, flavours ranging from yellow peach to lemon. Nice length. Will be excellent with some good charcuterie, grilled fish and shellfish or just as an aperitif.
