Wine of the week: Autumn in a bottle

Picture
This remarkable bottle from the Loire Valley in France, features a transformation much like nature undergoes during autumn. While all wines change with air, this one takes on a whole new personality as days goes by. Starting with an intriguing mix of light red berries and darker ones. On day two, if you managed to save some, it will have turned in to forrest notes. Displaying smells of wet earth, leaves, mushrooms and sweet red berries. On the third day I got some black berries and more sandy tones.
Extremely fascinating wine!

Tasting Notes

Picture
Grange aux Belles Brise d'Aunis 2018 - 255kr (1 liter bottles)

Transparent Beaujolais style red colour.
Pleasant smell of raspberries, pomegranate, fresh herbs and heather (Røsslyng). Intriguing balance between berries and forrest.

Very juicy in the mouth with red berries, anis and light liquorice. Perfect acidity and nice tannins. Clean with a long and elegant finish.
A wine packed with flavour, but presented in a mellow style. Fascinating combination of strong flavours that you usually find in rough wines, and lightness like a Beaujolais.

Food
It will be awesome with pizza and pasta Bolognese. It has tannins enough to handle light meat like veal and pork.
Try it with a smoked ham salad or pork loin.
