It’s that time of the year again - “The new wine” is upon us. In my opinion one of the worst pr hypes in the wine world. The Beaujolais Nouveau is being released on the third Thursday of November so be ready to drink some, quite frankly, not ready wine. I like to use this time as an opportunity to recommend a Beaujolaise with some age, not much, but at least the wine has had time to rest and fulfil its potential. We have recommended several of Jean Paul Bruns wines over the years and with good cause. He is an excellent wine maker! One of our earliest stories was about his fine wine cellars as you can see here: The Fleurie wine fields are situated in the northern parts of Beaujolaise and the wines from here are often characterised as feminine, soft and fruity. Palate is full and ripe, having charming, well concentrated middle, suave, delicate texture, and a long, pleasurable finish. Try it with pork, chicken or just when you need a great glass to comfort yourself on a rainy November night.
