Christmas is close and wether we like it or not old traditions are showed upon us from every corner. Be it through media, in the shops or at home. Traditions can be a hassle but some are very nice. Like enjoying one of your wines! This weeks wine has been featured before, then it was the 2016 vintage. Now the 2019 vintage is out and we deserve it! The label for the Domaine Joseph Faively is one the most wine lovers know and respect. One of the largest producers in Burgundy and one of the most popular. They have been based in Nuits St Georges since the days of Pierre Faiveley who founded the business in 1825 and his son Joseph gave his name to the family business. From generation to generation, with a strong commitment to the quality of Burgundy’s patrimony, the Faiveley family has purchased vineyards and is today among the largest owners of classified vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise with holdings totaling 331 acres, of which 30 acres are grands crus and 67 acres are premiers crus. The Faively family make a lot of wines, most of them you will find in the Vinmonopol. Prices will vary, but as with all wines from Burgundy, they are often very expensive. This weeks wine is among the best priced at only 239,90. The Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Rouge is is sourced from vineyards spread throughout the terroirs of the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise. It is vinified in the cellars of Domaine Faiveley for 12 to 14 months in the same manner as their broad selection of reds from the Côte de Nuits. Tasting notes:Faiveley Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019 - 239,90 kr Smells of forrest flor and red berries. Superb minerality and acidity give it great structure. The red berries continue in the mouth, but it also feels very smooth and refreshing. Very easy to drink! Will go very well with poultry, maybe try it with a home cooked Coq au vin?
