This week we've found an Italian bargain from 2009 for you. This now 11 year old bottle from Tuscany, holds a lot of power and delicious flavours, at a ridiculously low price.
2009 was an excellent vintage in Italy, with a 9/10 on the official rating. This really shows in this wine. Yummy to enjoy on it's own, and even better with food.

Tasting notes

Villa Cavallo 2009 - 159kr

Medium deep red colour, with a clear brown edge. This gives you a hint of the age of the wine.

Exiting smell of ripe purple plums, sweet cherries, oriental spices and hints of wood and vanilla.

Nice, round and juicy in the mouth. Flavours of sweet red berries, with hints of vanilla in the finish. A very earthy wine that still carries decent tannins. It will continue to develop for 5-6 years, but drinks very well at the moment.

A joyful bottle and a bargain you seldom come across. 

With food
Bolognese, Carbonara, Risotto with fungi or try a classic cut of meat.
